40 Degrees Celsius

This series was taken in response to the soaring heat and the evidential change to our environment leaving nature parched and in need of care. I deliberately left a ‘hint of green’ in the imagery as a symbol of hope for the future.

In July 2022, and for the first time since records began, temperatures reached 40 degrees Celsius in London, England, UK. The usual lush green commons of London Parks became scorched and withered and resembled arid grasslands. This unprecedented weather reinforces the growing impacts of climate change and the need to change our human impact on this planet - even small actions can make a difference.
